Are there any large forest/woodland areas in Leicester where you can go set up camp

freely/legally.? Just wondering if there are any public/open to all areas where you can do this. I'm finding that just asking a farmer's permission to camp on his field does not have the same feeling as a forest or 'untouched' area would.

I would consider myself to be a an experienced begginer at camping/hiking and I'm looking for better sites to gain further experience from.

I am aware of Leave No Trace techniques and general camping etiquette and I try my best to adhere to them.

Any good suggestions would be much appreciated.
