Are there any grants or benefits for financial aid with the loss of a parent?

I'm 19 now, my mother died when I was 7, my dad stopped collecting SS benefits when I turned 18. I live with him still at home and I am planning on attending culinary school. Are there any different benefits I can get since I only have 1 parent?
