...scaleless fish? hi there.. i've had mysterious disappearing fish for a while now... but never really saw any symptoms and never found the bodies to inspect. this morning i saw one of my rummys looking quite pale and noticed some red "fibres" protruding from his vent. after more research i think i've diagnosed it as camallanus worms.. a form of round worm. i'm going to head to the lfs as soon as i get home from work (in 5 hrs)to get treatment, but i was hoping some of you could share your experiences with this worm and failures and successes with various treatments as i've read that this is a particularily nasty parasite to deal with. very hardy! ugh. and to think my tank is exactly how i wanted it finally!

i have 130g freshwater tank
PH is steady at 7.6
temp is at 83F
all water parameters are within normal range
occupants include:

18 rummy nosed tetras
5 keyhole cichlids
3 dwarf male gouramis
3 siamese flying foxes
5 long finned danios
3 guppies (left :'( )
1 gold nugget pleco
4 clown loaches
and a whole wack of malaysian trumpet snails

One of the members on a fish board I belong to had a problem with these not too long ago. Here is a link to the discussion. Maybe it will help you out some. She managed to get all her fish taken care of and they're all healthy again. I hope this helps some!

Have you tried adding a teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of water in the tank? When I worked at a pet store and kept all the sick unsellable fish I used that as my cure all. It worked in most cases and doesn't harm most hardy fish.
