...Ndebele/Shona/Swazi culture? Last year I visited Swaziland and made some good friends and in order to deepen our friendship I want to understand them better: looking at the world from their perspective and trying to give them what they want. Different cultures use words, symbols, and intentions differently, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a book preferably in the format "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" that helps me understand what they are intending when they do and say such and such. The library in Minneapolis is excellent, but sadly, I found nothing like this, just general books on Africa.

There are plenty of books of understanding things like gender differences, but I haven't found any comparable books comparing American or western culture and African culture. I am most interested in Swazi, Ndebele, and Shona cultures. I'm seeking deep stuff, not things that just tell me every year the Swazis hold a Reed Dance, if you get my drift.

I would appreciate web links as well.
