i was wondering if anyone knew a fish that can survive with out a filter apart from fighter fish, other air breathers and livebearers?

Any and all fish can survive (and thrive) without a filter ... but you are going to be doing a lot of water changes to maintain water quality.

A filters main job is to breakdown and convert waste to less harmful elements or compounds .... you can do the same through extensive water changes.
Fighter Fish (Betta) still have water changes done regularly in the absence of a filter.... and there are fish that are way more resilient than a Betta, but still need water quality maintained.

Since all fish produce waste,it still has to be removed one way or another... a filter really cuts down your work load.

... and those saying no fish can survive without a filter, please elaborate on the 150 year difference between aquariums and electricity.

fishman is wronng. fish need filters, i mean, a betta CAN live without one, but it is a shorter life... it also gets really anoying changing them you have to do it a lot more without a filter also no no no goldfish! they need filters! so the only fish i know of is a betta but it is kinda sad its like you drinking unfiltered water like in those places where water isnt so good.

no, no fish can survive without a filter, well sea monkeys, and those aquasaur crustation things you can order on line. they are really cool but i want to know what it really is , a trilobite maybe?
