I like to role play with my Original Characters on my friends forum. thats all nice and dandy when i'm useing my dragons, hybrids, and mystical beings of mass destruction, but one character that i'm currently in a thread with is just confusing the hell outa me.
the site is based off the BOLO books, and i suspect (but have no asked the admin yet) a little bit of Sins of a Solar Empire thrown in as well.
point blankly: huge artificially intelligent tanks and space ships with a bunch of tech stuff thrown in.
this stuff confuses me.
my friend knows this, yet despite how much i'm obviously struggling in the thread with him and his brother in law, he doesn't try to help me with his vast expanses of knowledge that i knows he has.
the problem is that i've never been good with understanding techy stuff or things like guns and physics, much less how to role play a dragon-disguised-as-a-human-in-charge-of-a-spaceship scenario. (please, DON'T ask.....we come up with crazy crap <.<)
i want to learn more so i can be a better role player. it really hurts when your struggling to understand and your partner in the thread tells you to your face that you suck. i only suck because i don't understand.
are there any books or sites that i can go to to get some sense about this stuff? please?
