Are the media like Pigs in Muck when it comes to Swine Flu...?

... And why do they find it so newsworthy when the Chief Medical Officer tells people to avoid crowds as much as possible. It's not rocket science... is it?!?

I heard that it was a false alarm and the main culprits are those who do not wash their hands......Yes there have been cases of it, but more people have actually died from the regular flu. Some even had adverse reactions to the flu shots.

Yes....
How can any of you avoid crowds when you have 62 million people in the UK, living in or on a very small land mass?

Yes, bad news sells papers. Myself and our family are now just about over it, it's not too bad, just like a very heavy summer cold but the one thing we've all noticed is that while you have it you must rest because any exertion brings on the temperature. Thank God we've had the cricket to watch. I wouldn't however be too happy flying at the moment as the air con on aircraft will not filter out this bug. Have you noticed in the last few years the prevalence of sore throats after a flight? As for the Chief Medical Officer? He's a tool of this useless government so i wouldn't listen to any advise he gave, he has probably as much experience in health as Jacqui Smith had in law and order.

What really annoys me is that they keep going on about conflicting advice for pregnant women. There is no conflicting advice. They are advised to go about their daily business but where possible to avoid large crowds or congestion and if they are going to be in large crowds to think whether that the trip is necessary. Nothing groundbreaking there. Yet the media are like a dog with a bone mainly because there is no other story going on at the moment.
