Are the Marines or Military in general a good way to leave a bad home?

To most people my life seems pretty good. I live in a big house in north new jersey, in college etc.
Bullshit
After years of tolerating my mothers mental abuse and slowly trying to heal the scars, she pushed me too far and destroyed everything that i had fixed to date.

Now i am looking for a way out. I do not want to leave home to get a full time job and a room mate, Without being in college i see myself being at that same job ten years from now.
The military seems like a good idea to me although i feel as if i have no idea what i am getting myself into. If i do this i will no longer have a home to come back to. What i need to know is after basic training, when when I begin training for a military job; will I have a place to stay or be able to afford one and support myself?

Yes it is. If you are facing passing out burgers at McDonald's this gives you a chance to get out of the "Nowhere Syndrome", get a decent education and life experience to build your self confidence. You have to work with them also.

It's been the way to "get away" since the beginning of time. The conditions are much better now. the military will house, feed, cloth, and train you.
