are the hyperdunks the best basketball performance shoes right now?

ive heard good things about them so i was thinking about getting a pair for christmas. but i already have a pair of basketball shoes about a year old in pretty good condition so i was wondering if the hyperdunks are worth the money. how are they as basketball shoes, not as casual shoes? also, is there any way i can get them at a cheaper price or get discounts (not online)?
