Are the floor bike pedals effective or helpful in my goals to...?

Trim off about 3-5 pounds of fat over a 1 month time period? I am talking about 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are my upper body days for it and Tuesday and Thursday are lower body. It would change from Mon. ,Wed. , and Fri. upper body to Tues. and Thurs. and my lower body use would replace Mon. , Wed. , Fri.

Main Points:
-Are these as effective as a regular bicycle or do they have good chances of trimming off my 3-5 pounds of fat I have?
-Could I gain any tone from this?
-Would this help cardiovascularly?
-Also I am 14 years old, 5' 10", and weigh about 160-170 depending on if I eat like I haven't seen food or if I just aren't too hungry for a couple days.
