1. Is the difference between a lake and a creek merely their size, or do they (or did they) have any separate function? Also, are there any famous creeks?
2. On a side note from question 1, I think that rivers and creeks are, by definition, bodies of water that flow in a set path. Are there any other bodies of water that follow this definition if it applies to rivers and creeks?
3. Are lakes, ponds, lagoons and swamps also differentiated by size along, or do they also have some sort of function/characteristics to them. Also, is there any other types of water similar to these?
4. This may sound stupid, but . . . what is a tributary, and what is it used for?
5. What is the difference between a bay and a gulf, and are they in any way similar to a dock?
6. Why is the Caspian Sea considered the world's largest LAKE?
7. Is a basin a body of water?
8. Is a Cape a body of water?
Sorry there are a lot of questions here; I'm just curious about the different bodies of water.
