The biggest issue with vegetable oil is not the calories...its the trans-fatty acids. Vegetable oil is not healthy for anyone, no matter how fast, or slow, the metabolism.
If you want to fry...go ahead. Just use an olive, sunflower or peanut oil to do the frying. Each one has some really healthy benefits, and gives the food a good flavor. Personally, I use olive oil.
