Not only if you're an athlete, but what if you're sick, or your electrolyte levels are low or feel tired, or just need a lift of sorts? Would drinking some gatorade or powerade help you?
I've had mixed answers. Some doctors told me that when you're sick and what not, it's good to drink that stuff, also when you feel run down, etc. I actually had times when my potassium levels were low, and they gave me bananas, supplements, or just told me, drink some gatorade/powerade or whatever.
So the question is, is this stuff really good for our health or could it throw the electrolyte levels out of whack if they're already normal?
And then the next question is, which brand is the best one for us, because they have quite a few, propel even, and some of them are loaded with unnatural additives, which could really cancel out anything good we're getting from the drink.
Some of the drinks have been proven to be marketing hoopla as wel, and are loaded with sugar such as "vitamin water."
So....do these offer benefits and can be good for us, or basically, all we need is water and a balanced diet?
I mean other than sports drinks, what's the best way to replenish fluids/electrolyte levels?
Also, is there ANY real need for protein bars, power bars, nutrition bars, meal replacement bars, etc? They're also loaded with additives, high calorie content, milk, etc,..which might be bad mucus wise, if you have a lung condition/asthma, etc....they're not the most natural thing you can eat.
So then, if any of this stuff really doesn't matter, what can we eat/drink in its place as a healthier alternative?
