Are snails good fish tanks?

they will eat algae in the tank but certain species have a tendency to multiply very quickly. i would say yes for getting one or two but keep a close eye on their numbers.
 
Snails will keep algae and muck from building up on tank walls and even clean up dead fish and old fish food. However, they do poop it all out. Alot!
 
snails eat the algae, dirt, fish poo, left overs etc from the tank. they will seem to clean it but in all honesty.. they just make as much mess as any other fish and everything they eat.. comes back out the other end
