As of the last couple of months, I was an adjunct instructor for a vocational school in the city where I live. To my surprise, I was hired with no former teaching experience (which they already knew to be the case). Well, after the 5 week trial period was up, the way in which they decided to let me go was to let me find out by their silence. When asked about it, the lady who hired me would never give me a straight answer as to why, simply saying "we talked about this already". If that's the case, shouldn't I know the exact reason(s) for it and not be in the dark about it? Is this a normal practice for vocational schools? What about other academic institutions? Long story short, I feel that I should know exactly why I was let go, not guessing as to why...
