I know that in some investigations and when convicted criminals are booked into prison, officers can ask them to provide bodily fluid samples, usually including urine, blood and saliva. But are males also required to produce a semen/sperm sample? I assume that if this is the case, officers would have to give males some degree of privacy when the semen sample is taken, but if they do, how can they ensure that the sample is not contaminated and handled properly?
Are police ever permitted to extract semen/sperm samples from male suspects?
