Yes and no.
Yes due to the logic you just used. It is a relatively simple matter.
No due to other view points on human existence. One could argue that every person died is a wasted resource. The idea being after a person is dead, they can no longer contribute to any meaningful activity, including possible helping the environment.
So it depends on your point of view, and I truly believe neither is 100% right, nor 100% wrong.
