Are people born gay or is it a chosen lifestyle?

A best friend since high school came out of the closet lately. I was a little puzzle but I accepted him as he is and nothing change between us friends. I love him to death. I have however been in this discussion with all my other buddies and him over if people are born gay or not. Well, I just do not know so please tell me?
 
A lot of people will tell you that we're "choosing" this and that this was all in our control, but those people often are not gay.

As a lesbian, I can tell you that being a lesbian was CERTAINLY not a choice for me. It's what feels natural to me and I dated a guy for awhile, to no avail. Girls are what turns me on.

There are plenty of biological sources I could use to support this, but simply: we don't choose this, we are born this way and it's not unnatural.
 
It's so confusing because it does kinda seem like a choice but after watching this documentary about a gay boy getting tortured for weeks and beaten to death it totally changed my mind. I think it's a chemical imbalance so they can't help it.
 
i think your born gay... you kant control your feelings about people. thus not being a choice because it really isnt controllable. i mean you cant choose who you are attracted to who your attacted to is emottionally set not something you can just choose
