Are my pond fish dead?

I bought 2 Koi for my small pond in my yard. Everything seemed fine for day 1. Then I never saw them again. The PH is correct and I have a fountain. I keep throwing food in and it appears that it's being eaten. If they were dead, wouldn't they be floating? Haven't seen them for over a week.

How big/deep is your pond? Can you see the bottom? I constantly have problems with raccoons grabbing my fish and have actually caught them in the act. My fish always come to the surface and gulp up food when I throw it in, so If yours aren't doing that, it's a good chance they aren't in there anymore.

Maybe a bird came and swooped them up then ate them
And maybe some other creature ate the food ..
