I have a 50liter filtered tank that originally had two female platies in it. One of my female platies gave birth to approx 5 platy fry (i have tried to count them but they are always hiding and darting around and so i'm unable to separate them from the adults). I used to do a 25% water change about twice a week and the water was always fine, since the fry have appeared, i have had to do a 25% water change every day for the last week and yesterday i had to do a 50% water change as the water was so bad. I have been feeding my platies 2-4 times a day since the fry have appeared but i've been watching them eating to make sure i'm not putting too much in as i first thought this might have been the problem. I've checked my filter and that seems to be working fine and i've been collecting leftover food from the bottom of the tank to stop it from rotting away. I've also been using a water conditioner once a week. I have no idea why the water is so coludy! Am i doing something wrong? Also i do realise that platies eat their babies and i know i've not separated them but they have plenty of hiding places and they are approx 2 weeks old now! They were too small to catch and i hadn't realised my platy was pregnant when i bought her so didn't know to separate her before she gave birth. Thank you
