Are my exercises making my thighs chunkier?

I have recently been trying to thin out my thighs and make a gap on the inside of my thighs.
However, it seems as if the muscles on the front of my thighs are getting bigger. I know this is muscle, but i really don't want bigger thighs!

How do you get thinner thighs if these exercises make legs look BIGGER?

My boyfriend who wants to look bigger is also doing the same exercises as me! (squats etc..)
