Are Mazda RX-8s good cars?

The RX8 is for enthusiast drivers. This means that it does not hold up to short drives well. It needs to be driven long enough to get completely warmed up before shut down.
Those that will get the most life out of them are those that do not mind doing the little things it takes before a car should be started. If you ever read any car manual you will find that the oil is to be checked weekly, the same with coolant and many other things. But many car owners do not do this and the RX8 will let them down.
It is also a car for those who are willing to learn from their cars. Unless you learn what it has to teach you, you will wreck it and in all likely hood total it (along with yourself).
So if you want a car for daily commutes to school or to a job with an occasional hard run, buy something else.
