Are Kicker subwoofers a good brand?

i have a friend who is giving me 2 12 inch kicker subs enclosed 1000 watts each for $100 because he is just trying to get rid of them... i have a 12V alpine amp, i think it goes up to 250 W.
First is it a good brand of subs? and second would my amp be compatible with it?

Electrical work on cars isn't my forte.
anything mechanical i can do lol.
 
there are better subs dat shit in kickers face
kickers are good brand but everyone has them

try these brands RE audio, RD audio, Digital designs, elemental designs, treo, audioque, hertz, ID, fi audio
