are jewel cichlids alright by themselves without any other fish?

I was just curious. I only have one jewel cichlid and was just wondering if it was alright. I mean is it recommended to have other fish with them? different breed or not? or does it matter
 
Of course you can! In fact I have a full Jewel Cichlid tank and have had it for 2 years and my Jewels have been doing just great and even have bred. :)
