Are Jeep Cherokees reliable cars?

Im looking into purchasing a '99 jeep cherokee limited and I was wondering if they were reliable cars. Has anyone had any trouble with them?

The last Consumers Report didn't recommend any of the Jeeps.

its a Chrysler and if it has over 80,000 miles FORGET IT! any american car that hits 100,000 miles turns into instant garbage, if it will even make it to 100,000.

My family has had a little more than ten jeeps and none of them have had any problems they are a great 4x4. The only reason we sold one was to get a new one. I am a strong believer in the 4.0 liter motor also, and have had wranglers many cherokees and two grand cherokees.
