Are illiterate people the only ones who would call the bible a "good" book?

It is neither FUN to read nor presents much in the way of ethical/moral instruction.
It is mostly a collection of tales about war and superstition. But you'd only know that if you read it.
 
Religion only appeals to the dumbest and most gullible people. I cannot understand how any adult thinks that some invisible sky daddy is going to grant their wishes(prayers) if you symbolically eat the flesh and drink the blood of a 2000 year old Jewish zombie.
 
I wouldn't call them illiterate, just uninformed.

But yeah...

The "good" book is indeed full of genocide, war, mass murder, incest, slavery, etc.
 
I've read many books (including many religious books) but can never get very far into the Bible. Some of it is good, but some of it is terrible. It starts out terrible! (A boring list of ancestry.)

I like Ecclesiastes though.
 
Will you please stop making fun of the bible?
I find it unfair how people attack christianity, but won't even say a word about any other faith.

Everyone has a different faith, in what way does the bible harass you in your life?

It's a book.
