are honda crx's good cars?

I'm thinking about buying a used 1990 honda crx. it's got 247,000 miles on it, needs a new muffler, and has some sort of battery short where you just disconnect the battery cable if the car is going to be sitting for a long period of time(overnight or longer). what can you tell me about these cars in general, and does anyone have an idea what could be causing a drain on the battery? thankx!!
 
these cars in general are excellent...you do have a lot of miles on it and there is the possibility for the smaller things to go wrong.. the engine is touted as excellent but even an excellent motor can die..

i would check your alternator for power drain on the battery...
