Such a funny question. Why out of every bike in the world are guys who ride harleys the ones that get 'picked on'? You are all such humble, unpretentious, riders. Always waving at every other bike, never ride slow in big groups, clogging up the road. Your straight pipes are music to the ears of everyone. And it's so cute when every stockbroker and fry cook thinks he's a weekend 1%er. I too wonder why Harley guy is not popular with one and all.
Even though I ride a sport tourer and also a dual sport, I'm kind of an old timer. So I could go into this whole history. My dad and uncle road harleys back when harleys were sport bikes. But I will say the average guy who buys a harley today is nothing like the guy who rode harleys 40 years ago when I lusted for one.
The average Harley guy today is a noob and a poser, a RUB, or worse a person of very low status who thinks a Harley is a status symbol and cops an attitude about it.
And the Harley itself is a symbol of American failure. It is a primitive antique design that gets high sales from heavy advertising to said noob posers and out to pasture fan boys. The new Buell, without the harley vtwin boat anchor, is the only hope for America to again make a bike that isn't an embarrassment.
Jealous? Yeah sure. Sorry but it escapes me what I'm supposed to be jealous of?
