so basically at my school all of the cute guys are popular and they only pay attention to the popular girl. they don't even look at me and my friends who are normal. and then all of the other guys are super weird and not even cute and they would never go out with a girl! also a lot of the popular girls are not that pretty! is it like that at your school??

No, there's some hot/cute guys who are not popular at my school. And shy guys find it hard to ask a girl out but they still date! Its mostly the way you described in films.

We never had cliques or the popular people/normal people/weird people at my school. Everyone got along no matter how different, everyone would go out and hang out with everyone. I guess we all enjoyed each other differences.

That's exactly what mine is like and I hate it because I'm not popular.
I've had 2 boyfriends. One when I was year 8 and I look back and think 'what was I thinking?!' haha and the other..I didn't even like that much and also look back and think 'what was I thinking?!'
