Are glass bottles or aluminum cans more harmful to the environment?

Aluminum without a doubt. Look at what it takes to produce virgin aluminum and the pollution it causes.
 
I would guess cans, but in a question on which is better to buy, you've got hobos who can collect the cans for money, and glass bottles can shatter and provide hazards for children and stupid people, so which one wins out?
 
Aluminum cans take 200-500 years to fully degrate. as for Glass it takes 1 million years...But the Cans usually have dye on them which can be some what harmful for the environment. On the other hand cans are easly crushed to make more room and more accepted from recycling services and glass is heavyer and not so accepted if broken. I would agree with cans ...cheaper,biodegrates faster and and takes up less room
