are french teenage boys into sport?

im going on exchange to france in august,
and am wondering weather or not french boys are very into sport because i am not
i like swimming but in a school setting that's not much of an advantage
im 15 so im just wondering in a school setting weather or not that would make it hard for me?
 
I think that it depends on whether you're going to a city or to the country.

City life has its limitations whereas during the summer in the country, people have more space and time to pursue sports.
Certainly, swimming is big during the summer as are boules or petanque. Football (or soccer) is the main spectator sport along with the Tour de France.

I'm sure you'll be just fine :) As with everywhere, you will find those who are really into sports and those who are not.
