A man can really lose out when with the notion of a woman's choice.
Example 1. A man believes that the child inside of the womb is alive and his son or daughter. He is committed to raising the child with or without the mother, but think he or she deserves a life. He also is fully committed to financially supporting the women until she recovers from birth. The mother decides that she does not want the baby and the man feels as if he lost a child.
Example 2. A man was sleeping around with another women. She got pregnant and right afterwards, the man lost his job. He already had a family, so he didn't want another child. He didn't think of the baby as a person, so he asked the women to get an abortion. She declined and had the child. He was then financially tied to this child for 18 years and his other family suffered because of the fathers split duties.
Let me present some solutions:
1 - Banning all abortions (except rape)
2 - Men get a say in a woman's choice to have an abortion (it takes two to tango, right?)
3 - Men should have the right to refuse to pay child support and have nothing to do with the child (she chooses to have a child without the full consent of the potential father, she has no moral right to child support).
I think we can agree that #3 is unfair to the woman, so I don't think that's a reasonable solution.
Solution 2 seems reasonable for ex. 1, but then again, she may not be willing to go through the pain and labor. Then again, we are covering a woman's physical pain at the expense of a man's emotional pain as well as the baby's life. This also doesn't seem fair. I see that the man's emotional pain, which can last a lifetime, as well as the death of a baby is not right, when the woman can go through 9 mos. pregnancy and recovery and be *recovered* from everything.
The only solution I see is solution #1. This way, when both parties have sex, they will be aware of the consequences and will also take safe sex more seriously.
I just have a question. Once the baby is born, and the man/woman decides not to be a part of the family, instead of child support, can't the gov't pay instead? I mean, they pay for jails and stuff... I think this would also solve some problems.
I need some opinions here, this issue is too complicated. What is your solution?
Thanks!

1. It's jeopardy; 2. It's the father's sperm that's needed to make the baby.
