You are comparing apples to oranges; one is historical, one is current. You can not judge the past by today's standards. To do so is deceptive at best.
And you must dissuade yourself of the myth of peaceful indians living in pastoral harmony with other indians and nature.
The indians were just as vicious, cunning, and warlike as we were. The only thing was that we were better at it than were they. They were also warring with each other, fighting for land and for resources.
As to immigration today, I'd like to share a quote from The Great Communicator, President Ronald Reagan: "A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation."
It is necessary for our self protection that we control the borders. And that means keeping illegals out.
They come here illegally because they do not have the qualifications to come here legally, which means they are either physically, mentally or morally undesirable.
