Are brands really confusing? Like I thought Dodge, Chrysler, Buick, Cadillac, Lexus,...

...Acura, Infiniti, GMC were? (continued)

all separate companies, turns out they weren't. Why do brands do such crazy confusing things?
I meant Chevrolet when I said Chrysler, my bad.

yeah it is comfusing. but if you really wanted to you can learn all of that.its not really the brands fault ..its just busniess.i don't think it really has an effect on us though..

They're diff. car brands...that operate under GM. Well Infiniti and Acura belong to someone else. I know that Toyota owns Lexus though.

GM has: GMC, Chevy, Saturn, Saab, Buick, Opel (european brand sold only in Europe), and Cadillac I believe.
Although they're getting rid of Saturn, Saab, and Opel.

Dodge belongs to Chyrsler.

They are their own subdivisions. Like, they're all their own companies, but they are owned by GM. Plus Lexus, Acura and Infiniti are separate, they aren't part of the GM family.
How is this part of Other-Cultures & Groups?

Chrysler owned Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep

GM owns Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, HUMMER, Saab, Saturn, Pontiac and Buick

Ford Owns Ford, Mercury, Lincoln and Volvo

Toyota owns Toyota and Lexus

Honda owns Honda and Acura

I think Infiiti is an independent brand but I'm not sure
