are blood test accurate for pregnancy?

i think i possibly concieved on june 29th and i took a hpt and was negative. i am thinking of taking a bloodtest but how accurate is it and would it already be able to show up in my bloodstream if i concieved 8 days ago?
 
I think the blood test is more accurate than the urine test, but you should wait at least two weeks after intercourse to take any pregnancy tests for maximum accuracy.
