No they are not all 4wd. The base model is front wheel drive.

It's a compact SUV but one of the larger compact ones. Bigger than a Hyundai Tuscon or Kia Sportage for example and about the size of a Ford Escape. Some have a 3rd row seat buts it's too cramped for adults.

I would call the rental company if you know it. But remember that you are never ever ever 100% guarunteed exactly what kind of car you are going to get when you rent.
 
i want to rent a 4wd car since I am going to travel around grand canyon circle area.

I checked hotwire.com they have mid-size SUV like rav4 listed. but how can I make sure that it is 4wd ?
