I am currently a high school student about to be enrolled in my senior class, planning to pursue a career in architecture. However, I have a few questions about college preparation.
I've decided that I want to pursue a Masters in Architecture. However, I'm having trouble deciding on my high school schedule. In preparing for architecture, would it be more useful to sign up for an ROP CAD class, or to enroll in an Advanced Drawing and Painting class?
I have been drawing and painting since I was a kid, and I consider myself exceptionally talented. I plan to submit a portfolio of my art with my college applications as a supplement for majoring in architecture/art (is this a good idea?). But I don't know whether it would benefit me more to also take an Advanced Drawing/Painting class. I have taken no art related classes in high school so far, but I qualify for the advanced class. And I feel like I should. Plus, I remember reading that certain colleges don't care too much whether you are adept at CAD coming into college, since not all colleges use it, you might learn it in college anyways, and that they regard students that can draw and think creatively far more highly than those that know CAD(?). Is this true? Unfortunately, the schedules of the classes do not allow me to take both at the same time.
Thank you so much for the help!
