Arai helmets

I love my shoei, ive never had an issue outta it and it fits the same after almost 2 years with it and over 10k miles wearing it. Hardly EVER fogs is just an amazing helmet all arouhnd. I have the XEleven series though.

I have had an Arai RX-7 for about two years now. First thing first, it is a very expensive helmet, but I feel it is money well spent. The venting is second to none, seems like it even moves air at a standstill. Very comfortable and the build quality is obviously excellent.

On the down side, it is a bit noisy and the visor does fog on cold days, but only at a stop. Once you get moving again, the airflow takes care of the fog quickly. But the fogging is very annoying and obviously unsafe. We can land a rover on mars, you think we could come up with a visor that does not fog.

I own and still use a Shoei X-Eleven and an Arai RX-7 Corsair. Both great helmets. But I just purchased an OGK and love it. $200. cheaper too. Best ventilation and for high speed use.

By the way, I have an ad in the FS/Wanted section, for an unused, large Shoei X-Eleven.

Shoeis fog really bad, I actually almost died because of one. I was hammering up a hill into a s-corner from a driveway. Before I reached the s-corner i let off the gas and sat up abit , while doing this i looked down towards the speedo. the second i did that my lens fogged intensly with no vision. I took the corner at around 70 on the wrong side of the road ridding the edge of the curb. In the past I have been hit head on with a bell and also shattered an arai, currently own a soumy and in my opinion is the most venilated non-fogging helmet I have ever owned. I would personally gave that shoei helmet away which cost me 500$ but was better then kissing a car head on.

Yeah I am sure the weather in california is less probable to fogging then the northeast, when the lens fogged it was always colder and humid. If the lens wasnt vented open a bit , I would start to breathe heavy and the lens would glaze over like clockwork.
