Aprilia RSV 4 Nation-Wide Recall

Poor Brooks...... Hopefuly your girl will not be affected. An engine swap..., God only knows how long that shit would take at a dealership. When does Spring hit Alaska?

If I had to swap that engine, I'd have to first drive all the way down to Anchorage to get any type of service, as that is the only Aprilia dealer in the entire state.

Luckily, the riding season is short. Beginning of May through the End of September, If I'm lucky
 
WOW.... Engine recall that's huge. At least Aprilia is stepping up to the plate. I have owned 2 Aprilias(still have a 05 Touno) and never had a problem.Good luck to the RSV 4 owners.

Ok, I'm confused. What's, "lucky," about a short riding season? Or for that matter, an entire engine recall?

I just figured the shorter the riding season, the less chance there is for me to discover any engine faults. Just a way of mind-fucking myself to cope with the situation.

Having to replace the engine would just be one more thing to fuck up my time here in Alaska, because motorcycles is all I have out here.

But, if shit happens, so be it. That will just open the door for something else.

If I were you, I'd call the dealer right away and get this sorted out. If it hasn't been shipped yet put the brakes on the whole thing and demand that they address it before it gets up to you.
 
Agreed. Jules makes an excellent point. If the bike hasn't been shipped, have this mess sorted out prior to shipping. It will be easier to sort this out in the lower 48 than up in Alaska!
