Applying tank guards and decals

Do you just clean the surface and apply, or do you clean the surface, wet the surface, then apply? I've seen decals done both ways.

For both my Tankslapper kit and my Invisaguard kit, they recommend you clean then apply a liquid. Tankslapper said to use Water with a few drops of baby shampoo. There is also a product on the market especially for the purpose.

Adam, it all depends on if the decals are wet application or dry really. Normally the wet apps' are things like the clear protective film, and very thin and lack the adhesive on back. Dry apps' are thicker and have the glue on back side, clean, dry, peel and stick.

I know when the local sticker shop does anything, they do it wet. Even big decals on the sides of trucks. Or vinyl signs.

Thats usually so they can push out any air bubbles.
