Application not supported ?

Hi,
I am trying to install Tasky and FExplorer on my N80 but I get "installation of XXXX.SIS not supported".
I tried FExplorer_english_115.SIS and Tasky_S70_SDK2_0_CW_v12.SIS

What am I doing wrong?

Without knowing anymore details, I can only guess that you're trying to install v2 apps on your v3 phone, which doesn't work.

Look for Xplore, Y-browser, or SysExplorer for your file browsing needs, or you can take a look at trying to Symbian sign FExplorer for your N80, but it's a bit complicated if you don't know what you're doing.

Tasky should work, since I believe it was developed for 3rd Edition exclusively, but I could be wrong. Check the developer's website to make sure you're downloading the right version.
 
Thanks for the reply. For tasky, I simply picked the wrong version. The N80 needs "Series60 3rd Symbian 9.1".

As far as FExplorer, it is not support on Series 60 yet according to the website.
 
The beta is available, but you have to symbian sign it. It's a pain in the ***, let me tell you. If you really want it, I can sign it for you, but I recommend Y-browser much more. I just need your IMEI and your email address I'll email it to you in about 10 minutes when I'm done.
 
I would like to stick with Y-Browser as my goto file explorer, but FExplorer has the most useful tools like reboot, screen capture, network info, and memory compresser built-in. I know there are separate apps for this, but why install them when FExplorer has them all?

Both Y-Browser and X-plore need to add these features.
 
FExplorer is out for me as of today. It wouldn't let me send any files over...anything. There's no send prompt in the menus for it. I LOVE how integrated everything is too, but this one feature will cause me to keep other file browsers on the phone as well.

Y-browser won't let me highlight single items too. I have to highlight three and then un-highlight two just to highlight the one file I want if I'm looking for many non-consecutive files to send. Another pain.

Xplore is ugly, and wanting money for it is just cruel too.

All that said, I have all three on my phone, ha.
 
Yeah since it's still in beta, alot of features aren't working. Hopefully we'll see a final release before Christmas.....haha.
