Apple symbol on my itouch help plz?

hello im on a cellphone so please excuse me.. i reccently received an old itouch and tried resseting all settings and the older ones take longer to reset as it was resetting it died. and now it only has the apple logo and i did the hold the hold button and home button reset and it didnt work and when my touch charges it gets hott. is there any way to get this working again i am willing to open or do whatever. any help would be appreciated
