(Memphis) A little more than a month after Apple unveiled its latest iPhone, the company is contacting what it considers a small amount of customers and offering a replacement.
A spokesperson told WREG, “We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5s devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life. We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone.”
The spokesperson wasn’t specific about the manufacturing issue and wouldn’t provide an actual number of customers affected, but says the problem is fixed.
She also said the problem is not related to a safety issue.
Apple recently reported it sold more than 33 million iPhones last quarter.
