APPLE LAPTOP PROBLEMS?

I have the Mac OS X, Version 10.6.4 a.k.a. 13" Macbook Pro. All of a sudden, at the lowest percentages, such as 20%, my laptop gets REALLY HOT! How hot is too hot in fahrenheit and celsius for your Macbook pro? How do you know how many degrees your laptop is? Is this normal? How do I cool it down? PLEASE ANSWER!! THANK YOU!!
