Apple iPhone vs. Motorola Cliq

The iPhone or the Motorola CLiq?

The CLiq is pretty sweet, lots of apps, good service, and I think T-Mobile service is superior.

What do you all think?

My wife loves her iPhone and it has anapp for everything- great phone if you can use the virtual keyboard. The Cliq is a great phone with fewer apps but a real keyboard the 3G works well.

Wow, I'm a troll for asking a question? What kind of forums are there? I am honestly considering both and thought I would ask both users.

I forget how rude people feel entitled to be on the internet.

@James
Thanks for the input, there was a post above yours that was just flaming me senselessly, sorry if it seems I was directing that at you.

Yeah, I don't like the touch screen keyboard, I really like the Cliq's full QWERTY key board, it makes life a lot easier for me, but the iphone seems like it does everything.

I have a friend that has a Cliq and its not a bad phone at all. She loves it and you have more freedom with Android over iPhone. And if t-mobile is good in your area the rates are a LOT cheaper.

my brother uses the cliq and he likes it a lot (but he's also coming from samsung behold). he likes the qwerty keypad and has never used the virtual keyboard. he also likes how the directional pad is on the left side of the qwerty keyboard like traditional video game controllers.

Whether T-Mobile's service is better depends on where you are. If you're in NYC or San Francisco, pass on the iPhone. Until AT&T either truly solves its network problems or the Verizon iPhone hits, you're gonna hurt.

However, in most areas, AT&T is fine, and in those areas the iPhone wins. It has many more apps and (if you get the iPhone 3GS) is much faster. The virtual keyboard does take getting used to, but I actually find it faster than most hardware keyboards.

The Cliq is one of those Android phones for the masses, the kind you might like to give to your son, daughter or parents. For that it works very well. It makes a great everyday smartphone that does all the smartphone thingies well. Its not the Android for the hard core Android fanbois, just to be clear.
