I suppose it's good that the Obama admin is consistent with their beliefs...here is more proof that they just hate profits.

One day after Apple overtakes Microsoft as the largest tech company, a report is released that the DOJ is investigating.

It's tough being #1.

When using anti competitive tactics then yes, how dare he. It's so funny how all these pro capitalist guys run around screaming about competition but they are totally cool with big business and anti trust.

In Apple's case (and this one), Apple's refusal to allow developers to use the tools THEY wish to use.

Part of what investigators are interested in is whether Apple used its market dominance to discourage two of the top record companies from participating in a special Amazon music promotion called the "MP3 Daily Deal."

Apple managers informed the labels that any music included in Amazon's promotion would receive no promotion at iTunes, music industry sources told CNET in April. In one case, Apple complained to Sony Music Entertainment after seeing material from Alicia Keys touted as part of the Daily Deal.

I actually liked this, and pissed off that they gave in.

There are tons of other products that are competition for anything Apple has on the market.

Doesn't matter. I OWN an iPhone. I should be allowed to develop programs for something I own and how I program it, shouldn't be of any fucking concern of Apple.

Sure they can say "Sorry, not under warranty", but they shouldn't be allowed to dictate to anyone how someone uses a product that they flat out bought.

You OWN the iPhone, yes. But a condition of OWNING that phone is laid out in a contract that you agree to when you purchase the phone. Apple is gay but nothing they are doing violates your rights to anything.

And in all likelihood, you don't even OWN the phone unless you spent roughly $800 for it when you bought it.

More like $220 from eBay, and I didn't sign SHIT for a contract.

Even if you buy one directly from Apple, with NO CONTRACT, it will cost you:

The 8GB iPhone 3G will go for $499, the 16GB iPhone 3GS for $599, and the 32GB iPhone 3GS for $699.

So no, it isn't "roughly $800", but even if it was, it's MINE.
