Apparently: Media Blasters/Anime Works Sale at Best Buy

By chance I went to their site and started browsing their anime "On Sale" section section and found that they are packed with some pretty huge deals. Eventually noticed they were almost all Media Blasters/Anime Works titles

(I'm not sure if that huge link will work, if not just surf over by yourself)

For instance, the first result of 408 results is BERSERK: Complete series for $15

I'm actually broke right now but am seriously considering putting some credit down to pick up a couple purchases...

Genshiken economy set for 17.50 !?
Gokusen econ set for $7.50 !?
Midori Days for $10
Some single discs for between $5-12.50 (including some recent titles)

I've been waiting for the second season of Genshiken to either go on sale or get the box set treatment. Insta-buy.

This was about the only thing that could have made me brave a brick-and-mortar Best Buy store two days before Christmas. Protip: Brick-and-mortar Best Buys will price match the web site, but you have to go to the customer service desk. If you pay by credit card, they can ring you up there and you can skip the line at the register.

I think they are trying to flush all of the older SKUs. rab's gotta a lot of budget versions of their back-catalog hitting next year (see: complete Phoenix for 20 bucks MSRP,) and that means freeing space up on shelves and in the warehouse. I can't blame them either - I didn't even know shows like Loveless had 3 sets of SKUs (singles, boxset, another boxset.)

Wow, this has convinced me to finally get the last GoLion set (never watched past the sixth episode on the first set, but now I can marathon all three).

And even though I haven't seen much of Berserk outside of an abridged series, I'm really tempted to buy the set (though, I'll more likely go for the GaoGaiGar seasons; DANG these prices are awesome). Hell, for less than $10, I'd even buy Dokuro-Chan.

Y'all know I pimp Berserk whenever and wherever possible, so let's just consider that one duly pimped, 'kay? (-:

But seriously, if anyone reading this thread hasn't bought Genshiken yet, freaking BUY GENSHIKEN. That price for the first season box set is insanely low, and watching through the second season again, I'm reminded how crazy good the show is. Up there with Gurren Lagann as one of the best new releases in recent memory.

Yeah, but the initial boxsetting of Genshiken 2 already slated. Then we'll probably get a budget box, then a single-disc size diskeeper set and so on. Probably all in about the next two years or so at that.

Was anyone else having security problems with Best Buy's website?
I tried to order and my browser kept saying that the SSL-encryption wasn't secure. This doesn't happen when I order through other sites like Amazon.

It's a bummer because I was looking forward to checking out the complete Berserk for $15, hearing so many good things about it but not having watched it before.

EDIT (Update): That's weird. Just tried ordering again and now there's no security issue. I guess I can look forward to that set now.

See: Midori Days Complete Diskeeper version and upcoming Pheonix Complete Diskeeper version.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a lovely deal for the first season, and really probably won't beat in cost... for atleast a year or two... but Media Blasters does gradually do more and more compact versions at lower and lower initial MSRPs.
