AP World History essay introduction?

The directions for my essay include one line that says:

"Include an introduction with a clear thesis statement, body paragraphs, and conclusion."

This may seem like a stupid question, but I really don't want to get points taken off for doing something wrong- does that mean that is what the whole essay should look like? or the introduction needs the conclusion and all and then I need the rest of the paragraphs and conclusion?

Thanks =).

Well generally in an essay you have the intro, body and conclusion. In the intro you would include the thesis statement where you would state what the essay is based on ... basically, and it would include short points from the arguments you will include in your body. The conclusion is saved for the end of the entire essay. There just needs to be a closing statement on the intro to conclude that piece - very brief. Hope I helped a tad.
