HELP with that sentence :O
My essay is about how slavery was the priniciple cause of the civil war. how does this sound? Its for ap us history, keep in mind. Thanks for your help
“Had there been no slavery, there would have been no war. Had there been no moral condemnation of slavery, there would have been no war.” Sydney E. Aslstrome depicts the main cause of the Civil War flawlessly in this quote by clearly stating that if the issue of slavery had never come, the north and the south would have never been separated in such diverse opinions of this cause. In addition, he describes how if northern abolitionists never approached the idea of slavery being wrong, American citizens would not be so upset by the idea of slavery. Thus, the war would have never started. The first reason why slavery helped commence the Civil War was slavery itself and how the opinions of Southerners and Northerners differed immensely. Secondly, was the problem if slavery would be allowed in the newly acquired territories. Third, the concern of slavery was wrapped into many of the different origins of the Civil War. This meaning, slavery aided to other problems in the Union at the time, such as “Bleeding Kansas” and state’s rights. Slavery was the principle cause of the Civil War because it further divided the north and south against each other through many different means.
(i'm not looking really at grammar or spelling, but if you find some; plz fix!)
