So, for some reason, I decided to take AP US History this year. And, basically, I was just looking for some answers to a few questions I have about the class and stuff, for those who have taken it or whoever can help me; thanks!
-So, we're assigned a chapter to read over the weekends usually, and the last time we got assigned it, I timed myself. It took me 9 hours, and I took 20 pages of notes for 33 pages of text. I really need some hints on how I can make this not take so long, what kind of notes are important to take, and any other hints in this area.
-Hints on how to do better on the tests throughout the year?
-How awful is the final exam? (hints would be great)
-This is a class where we talk in discussions a lot, unlike all of my other classes. Which is a huge problem for me. I love classes where I sit at the back, get my work done, (I get good grades, so this works for me) and stick to myself. We're constantly asked to talk in front of the class and I literally start shaking when this happens. I need some advice on how to calm myself and feel more comfortable in this class. One other reason I'm not so comfortable is becasue I feel way out of place in this class. Advice on this too?

Thank you all so much, for those who take the time to help me out.

well when you're reading, you should just skim, not read the whole thing. you take notes on the bold words and on important dates and points. you should make sure you know most of the main ideas before you go into class, so you'll feel more confident about what you're going to say. if you know you're smart, why be afraid to share your ideas?
